The Opportunity

I completed a task analysis and user interviews to gather data on the typical in-person networking process. The data revealed numerous pain points, and a potential solution to help people connect and exchange contact information.

Networking Pain Points

• Exchanging and storing contact info
• Not having business cards 

Solution: LinkedIn Connect

LinkedIn Connect is a conceptual companion app to LinkedIn that would function as a digital business card. If you take a photo of someone else's "card", you'll then be instantly connected on LinkedIn. Their contact info would also be stored to your device's contacts, plus any other cloud enabled app that syncs your phone's contacts.

Design

The primary design goals were simplicity, ease of use, and brand consistency. These wireframes and mockups were created in Adobe Photoshop. 

Quick Add Walkthrough

These mockups represent the user flow for adding connections. In this scenario, our persona suggests swapping contact info with a friend, but neither of them have business cards on them. Instead they pull up their LinkedIn Connect apps on their phones.

Now that they Nicole's successfully added Jessica as a new connection on LinkedIn and saved her contact info she can go back and view her history of added connections.

High-Fidelity LinkedIn Connect Mockups

To raise the fidelity of the grayscale wireframes, I added user images and applied font styles and colors that were aligned with LinkedIn's branded style guide.
